Man Arrested and Charged With Arlington Girlfriends Murder

A man is in custody after he fatally shot his girlfriend in her Arlington apartment back in November.

Tanavian Smith,29 was arrested on January 21 near Houston and booked into the Fort Bend County jail on unrelated charges.

Smith allegedly killed his 24 year old girlfriend, Jayde Bell- Louise in her Arlington apartment.

Police received a call from Bell-Louise’s neighbor around 4:30 stating that they saw a door open.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of Nandina Drive around 4am to find the front door damaged. Once inside they found a young woman unresponsive from a gunshot wound.

Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, on November 29, around 10:30am neighbors recall seeing Smith and another man exit a white SUV at the complex. They appeared to be carrying what looked like AR-15 rifle type weapons.

During investigation officers learned that the victims 2014 Toyota Camry was missing. The vehicle was located on Christmas Day in Lancaster.

Officers tracked Smith after his cellphone records indicated that he received a text message on November 29 at the exact location where the vehicle was recovered.
