On September 25, Dallas police responded to a welfare call on the 1400 block of Elm Street around 1:15 p.m.
Upon arriving they found the victim, 46 year old Jenean Chapman, deceased inside of an apartment.
During the investigation authorities found reason to believe that 48 year old James Patrick was responsible for the murder.
On September 26 Patrick was arrested in Austin by University of Texas Police. He is being held in Travis County.
