Last week, a 20-year-old woman was reported missing, and now, the Victoria, Texas, police department is seeking the public’s assistance.

On Nov. 21, at around 10:30 a.m., Amanda Stevenson’s mother contacted authorities to report her daughter missing. Although they have searched diligently, police have not been able to locate her.

Stevenson’s phone was discovered, but no one can get into it because it is password-protected. Authorities are working to open it to find out who she last spoke with prior to going missing. Detectives added that they learned that she was familiar with 45 year old Kevin Bennetsen who was employed with a rideshare service who would often transport her around the area.

Investigators questioned him about where Amanda was at the beginning of the investigation; however, when they tried to pull him over via a traffic stop, he killed himself.

Although authorities searched the vicinity of where the man was often known to be, close to Yoakum, nothing was located.

Amanda was last known to be close to Salem Road on Sunday, Nov. 19. She was observed wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and black shoes. She is described as 5 feet, 1 inch tall and about 125 pounds.

Anyone with details surrounding her whereabouts is urged to contact Victoria Crime Stoppers at 361-572-4200.
