Man Fatally Struck After Being Put Out Of Lyft On Highway

A man died after authorities say that his Lyft driver demanded that he get out of the vehicle on a highway in Delaware.

The incident occurred close to 2 a.m., on Sunday. Six friends had requested a Lyft ride from Dewey Beach to a home in Bethany Beach. They had been traveling on U.S. 1 when a dispute began with the Lyft driver.

Authorities say that the Lyft driver stopped his car in the left lane of the highway. He then told the friends to exit the vehicle.

A 43-year-old male, Sidney Wolf, from Clarksburg, Maryland, got out of the vehicle on the right side. He was then fatally struck by a Toyota Corolla. The driver that hit him, a 27-year-old, stayed on the scene.

No one else was injured.

Police are searching for the Lyft driver who fled the scene in a possible white Honda Pilot.

An investigation is continuing.
