After a customer reported that he found a crack pipe in a drive-thru breakfast order at an Ohio McDonald’s, the store has been closed by health inspectors.

The unnamed customer had first posted on Reddit about the discovery he made after receiving his order on Tuesday morning at a McDonald’s in Columbus.

He stated that he took the bag back to the restaurant and told the manager so that something like that wouldn’t be put inside a “happy meal.”

On the other hand, he rejected an offer of a refund and decided to report it to Franklin County Public Health.

On Wednesday, health inspectors shut down the location after uncovering several health code violations as construction work was being done to the establishment.

They found that construction workers had been wandering around the restaurant, leading to dust on surfaces of food preparation counters, appliances, and the floor.

There was also nothing to separate the construction area and the food service area. There were even cell phones left on the grill.

The restaurant has now been given until Jan. 4 to correct the health code violations.

For now, the owners of the McDonald’s have stated that, “We have no indication that the crack pipe came from our restaurant but are continuing to investigate and have contacted local law enforcement to report the matter.”
