Monroe Police Officer Arrested And Charged With Using Excessive Force

A Monroe Police Officer is being held in custody at Ouachita Correctional Center for using excessive force during an arrest.
Jared Preston Desadier,42 was booked into OCC, Saturday on charges of malfeasance in office and second degree battery. His bond was set at thirty thousand dollars.
According to reports the city of Monroe announced Friday that an arrest was ordered for one of the officers involved in the April 21 arrest.
Police Chief Reggie Brown confirmed Saturday night that Desadier was the officer named in the complaint.
Timothy Williams,39 the suspect tried to evade arrest by pulling out a fake black handgun on officers and running away but stopped when he realized he couldn’t outrun the officers.
Officers found a crack pipe on Williams and he was transported to a nearby hospital for minor cuts and lacerations and then taken into custody.
In the stated complaint Williams said that as many as eight MPD officers used excessive force against him during the arrest.
After reviewing evidence two MPD Officers have been placed on administrative leave. Evidence shows that they were the only two officers present when physical force was used.
Three other officers who were not implicated in the use of force have also been placed on administrative leave pending the internal affairs investigation.
