District officials say more than 1,000 Fort Worth ISD students and staff are currently in quarantine due to COVID-19.

A total of 908 students and 185 staff members either tested positive for COVID-19 or became exposed to it after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive.

Officials claim the number of student cases is so high due to the restriction of 12-year-old and younger not being eligible for the vaccine.

Currently, all schools in the district remain open and parents are notified of every new positive COVID-19 case that arises.
