Mother And Daughter Will Earn Master’s Degrees Together With 4.0 GPA

50-year-old Alissa Meyer and her daughter, 25-year-old Elizabeth Meyer, will both be receiving their master’s degrees on Mother’s Day.

They pair will be graduating from Our Lady of the Lake, in San Antonio, Texas, with 4.0 GPA’s for both of them.

Additionally, the two had already earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Mary Hardin-Baylor and three Associate’s Degrees from Central Texas College.

It has also been reported that the two were employeed at Walgreens where they were pharmacy technicians and resided on campus with each other.

“She’s my best friend. My classmates call her ‘Mom,'” Elizabeth has stated.

The mother and daughter have faced challenges in the past but have overcome them. This includes losing their home in Hurricane Katrina and having to reside in a hotel in Killen for more than two and a half years.

Their next goal is to earn their Ph.D’s.
