A string of robberies in Southern California left 2 people and 3 others injured.
An armed suspect went to multiple 7-Eleven convenience store locations early Monday morning. The suspect, who was attempting to rob the stores, with two of the attempts being successful, shot customers and even the cashiers.
At 1:50 a.m. Riverside Police Officers responded to multiple 911 calls from a 7-Eleven. A man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and transported to the hospital. Through their investigation, officers learned that the suspect brandished a gun to the cashier and robbed the store. He then turned to a customer and shot him. The victim is currently in grave condition.
In Santa Ana, 24 miles from the crime scene, 911 calls come in from a 7-Eleven. At 3:20 a.m. Santa Ana Police Officers arrive and find a man fatally shot in the parking lot.
Less than an hour later, Brea Police Officers respond to a 7-Eleven and find an employee with a gunshot wound. The employee died a few moments later. Officers say the suspect robbed that location.
At 4:55 a.m. La Habra Police Officers responded to an attempted robbery at a 7-Eleven. At the location, officers discovered two victims suffering gunshot wounds, they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe the cases are connected.
The suspect has not been named at this time.
