New Glow-In-The Dark Park In Farmers Branch Will Temporarily Close For Repairs

1kviews

The new glow-in-the-dark park, in Farmers Branch, Texas, will temporarily close for important repairs, the city has said.

On Jan. 20, Joya at Oran Good Park first opened. Now, it will be closed from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 10 for repairs.

The playground has been a great hit. However, there needs to be some modifications to the equipment and to the community nearby, said one city official.

It has been reported that a fence will now be placed around the playground. This will ensure that safer measures are put into place, updated equipment is used, and it will hopefully lessen communities criticism of the park, officials say.

Guidelines and regulations will be reviewed by city leaders, as well. It isn’t known what other issues surround the park.

The park is 18,000- square feet and has interactive glowing parts that make it possible to enjoy the area at day or at night. It is valued at $5.5 million.

The park also contains a zip-line, a spin zone, swings, an obstacle course, and a 27-foot sphere that is surrounded with LED lights.

The remainder of the park will continue to be accessible to the public as repairs take place.

In time for Spring Break, the park will reopen on March 11.
