An officer involved shooting in Irving left one man dead on 4th of July.
Officers responded to a shooting on the 800 block of Elwood Rd where a woman called and said she had been shot by her husband.
When officers arrived they found the victim and transported her to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Officers searched the neighborhood and found the suspect hiding in a neighbors backyard.
Once officers made their presence known the suspect opened fire and officers returned fire striking the suspect.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
