On Thursday, a police officer in Mississippi pled guilty to forcing a detainee to lick urine off the floor of his jail cell.

26-year-old Michael Christian Green quit his job at the Pearl Police Department in December. This was four days after security cameras captured him forcing the man to do what officials have said is a ‘disturbing act.’

Green has pleaded guilty to the charge of deprivation of civil rights.

He had only been on the job for about six months and had a record at other departments when he had displayed his abuse of power.

On December 23, Green had apprehended the man for causing a disturbance at a Sam’s Club and was looking after him in the holding cell, prosecutors noted.

The detainee, only known as B. E., knocked on a door and attempted to tell Green that he needed to use the restroom. However, he eventually urinated in the corner of the cell after he was ignored for quite a while.

That’s when Green was captured on the recording, threatening to attack B.E. with a phone.

“You’re fixin’ to go in there, and you’re going to lick that p—up,” Green said. “Do you understand me?”

Green stood in the doorway and utilized his cell phone to record the video as the man gives in to the officer’s orders.

When B.E. gagged several times, Green said to him, “Don’t spit it out,” although the man later vomited, documents state.

Even though the court documents didn’t specifically state it, Green is white, and his victim is Latino, officials noted.

The city of Pearl learned about the incident during the Christmas weekend and swiftly started an investigation.

On December 27, Green resigned from his job but was expected to be fired anyway.
