On Wednesday, a woman was apprehended for the 2022 stabbing death of her older sister inside a Fort Worth apartment complex.
31-year-old Breanna Williams has been charged with murder. She was placed in the Tarrant County Jail on a $75,000 bond, documents show.
The report number written for Williams’s apprehension links up to the case number listed in the medical examiner documents for 31-year-old Porsha Smith.
Smith passed away at a hospital on June 22, 2022, after she was stabbed inside her apartment in the 6000 block of Stoneybrook Drive. Her cause of death was determined to be sharp force injury to the left arm.
Authorities stated at the time that Smith was in a physical altercation with her sister who stabbed her in the shoulder and arm.
Williams and Smith had been fighting all night when Williams got very upset and grabbed a kitchen knife prior to walking up to her sister, threatening to kill her.
Smith attempted to protect herself with a television, but Williams “swung the knife in a stabbing motion” around it and cut Smith. At least two other individuals were at the apartment when the incident happened.
Williams exited the apartment following the attack prior to officers arriving to the scene.
It isn’t known why it took more than a year for officers to apprehend Williams. However, documents show that she had not been found when the warrant was signed about two weeks after the stabbing. She may have been homeless, and her relatives would not cooperate with detectives.
