1.8kviews

Birmingham Police Officers Evans and Burnett arrived at 15th Avenue North an 28th Street last week.

They then found a vehicle completely underwater, and they quickly jumped in the water to see of anyone was inside the vehicle.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service had arrived then and found the officers swimming from the car with a woman who is approximately 80 years-old.

When they got the woman safely to land, she had no heartbeat and was not breathing. After two cycles of CPR, the woman began to cough up water.

Moments later, a pulse was found. As she was transported to a medical facility, she was conscious and talking.

The officers were thanked for their heroic actions.
