Ohio Mother Charged In Fatal Car Crash That Killed Her Two Children

An Ohio mother faces multiple felony charges in connection with a car crash Thursday night that killed two of her young children and hospitalized a third.
According to reports Police said Zantea Marie Jackson-Pool,23 was driving a 2019 Nissan Versa at a high rate of speed, near Agnes and Field streets in Detroit, after fleeing the scene from a previous crash on May 21.
Pool’s vehicle struck a SUV at the intersection and flipped onto the passenger side.
She had an adult male passenger in the front seat along with her three children and an adult female in the backseat.
When emergency crews arrived the victims in the suv were taken to an area hospital for minor cuts and bruises and the adults as well as Pool’s children were also taken to a hospital where her 2 year old daughter and 3 year old son died from their injuries and her 5 year old daughter was hospitalized.

Pool and the female passenger in her car also suffered a few broken bones.
According to police none of the children were in car seats or wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Pool has been charged with two counts of reckless driving causing death, two counts of driving while license suspended causing death, two counts of reckless driving causing serious injury, two counts of driving while license suspended causing serious injury and three counts of second degree child abuse.
