U.S. Customs and Border Patrol have seized over 19 million in cocaine that they say they found in a pineapple shipment.
According to Officials the shipment was discovered back in November at the Savannah Seaport with 1,157 pounds of cocaine hidden inside of a pineapple shipment from Cartagena, Columbia.
Officials discovered over 450 packages hidden inside the shipment.
The seizure is still under investigation.
“This was an outstanding interception of narcotics by our CBP Area Port Director Lisa Beth Brown. This seizure is a positive enforcement action against drug smuggling organizations and highlights the important work out officers do each day to stop illegal activity at our borders and ports of entry”.
