Pornhub, one of the nation’s largest adult entertainment platforms, can longer be accessed in Texas.
Due to a bill passed in 2023, explicit content viewing platforms must require age verification for all users. However, Aylo Global Entertainment, which is the parent company of Pornhub, failed to follow the required age-verification measures.
Pornhub criticized the approach to safeguard minors and claims there is a huge potential risk regarding users’ personal information. Due to not having an effective way to verify age at this time, Pornhub opted to suspend its services statewide.
Many entertainment websites are not just banned in Texas, states like Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Virginia, and Utah have also lost access to these sites.
