Nikko Japanese Steakhouse, in Pace, Florida, received backlash after customers tested positive for methamphetamine after eating at the establishment.

Now, the Steakhouse is no longer open.

Patrons reported feeling ill following a dining experience at the hibachi restaurant on June 9. When test results came back, it was found that three out of seven people were found to have meth in their system.

Due to a lack of evidence, the case was closed after an investigation was conducted, and no one has been apprehended.

“After more than 10 years of serving the Pace community, we have decided to close Nikko Japanese Steakhouse. It was determined by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office that there was nothing linking the restaurant to the accusations.  After a clear survey by the health department, we re-opened our doors. We are so thankful to our regulars who came back to support us. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough to keep the doors open,” a Facebook post by the restaurant read.

The restaurant claims that after the occurrence, the media viciously harassed them and made them look bad although they had been working with investigators.

Even though many workers think that another employee put something in the food, detectives could not find evidence of that. Documents show that the colleague had been acting strangely on June 9.
