School Principal Dies By Suicide After Jumping Off Structure At Disneyland

51-year-old Christopher Christensen, the principal of a Huntington Beach Elementary School in Anaheim, California, has lost his life after plummenting from a parking structure at Disneyland.

Authorities say that on Saturday, someone called them at about 9 p.m., to the parking location. When they were on scene, they discovered a man who was deceased. The Orange County coroner identified the man as Christensen and stated that he died by suicide.

At the beginning of this school year, Christensen started as the principal at William T. Newland Elementary School. He had been an educator for at least 22 years.

The school district noted that counselors and mental health professionals will be located at each campus on district to assist those who are dealing with this loss.

Christensen had disclosed on his Facebook page that he had been placed on administrative leave from his job. This came after a recent altercation with his wife that resulted in him going to jail.

He was also facing charges of child abandonment and battery. He had pleaded not guilty and was supposed to go to court on Monday.

“…please remember me for all the good I brought to the world of education,” he wrote.

Christensen is not only survived by his wife, but also, three children and two stepchildren.
