A police officer in London was attacked while answering a call to a domestic dispute in February.
Just after the incident, he recorded a goodbye message to his wife and child on his bodycam. He believed that he wouldn’t survive his injuries.
However, he did not succumb to his wounds but does have four metal plates in his face.
While Alan Keeble, 40, was being apprehended for making threats to murder someone, he punched the officer many times in the face, back, and head. Another officer who was there to assist was also hit in the head.
The officer received some medical attention at the scene but was then taken to a hospital.
On Monday, Keeble was given seven years in prison and was put on an “extended license.” He will serve three months, concurrently, for hitting the other officer, as well.
Keeble plead guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
