An investigation is underway after a six year old girl died at a Colorado amusement park Sunday.
The incident happened at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park shortly after 8pm, which is located atop Iron Mountain.
The girl was on vacation with family and rode the Haunted Mine Drop ride.
The ride drops riders 110ft down a dark tunnel.
Employees at the amusement park administered first aid until paramedics arrived and pronounced the young girl dead.
An autopsy is scheduled for this week to determine the child’s actual cause of death.
The park released a statement on its website saying, “ We are deeply saddened and ask that you please keep the family of the deceased in your thoughts and prayers.”
Garfield County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
