Soccer Team Switches Uniforms To Appease Players On Their Periods

In order for players to feel “more comfortable and confident” when they are participating in a game, the players for the Orlando Pride, are now wearing black shorts. This team is a part of the National Women’s Soccer League.

Reports indicate that the team is the first in the NWSL to modify its uniform based off of players’ input.

On March 26, the team first wore their new look as they played the Portland Thorns in the opening of the 2023 season.

“We must remove the stigma involved in discussing the health issues impacting women and menstruating non-binary amd trans athletes if we want to maximize performance and increase accessibility to sport…,” stated Haley Carter, the Pride’s vice-president.
