Suspect Apprehended For Shooting 6-Year-Old-Girl And Her Parents After Basketball Went Into His Yard

A man from Florida shot a six-year-old girl and her parents after their basketball went into is yard in North Carolina.

On Friday morning, Robert Singletary, 24, appeared at a hearing, in Tampa, Florida, to discuss his return back to North Carolina. This came a day after he surrendered to authorities.

At the hearing, Singletary signed a waiver of extradition.

Officials in Gaston County, North Carolina, say that children had been on swings and playing basketball when the ball entered the suspect’s yard on Tuesday night. Detectives say that the man begin to scream, take out a gun, and shot at the family.

William White, Ashley Hildebrand, and an unnamed six-year-old were shot. White and the child are still hospitalized in serious condition. Hildebrand sustained a grazing gunshot injury.

Singletary has now been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Authorities haven’t said when Singletary will be extradited back to North Carolina.
