At close to 6:46 p.m., on August 12, 2023, Mesquite, Texas, police officers were called to a shooting inside of Town East Mall. Multiple callers had stated that they heard gunfire on the lower level of the mall by the entrance near IH-635.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the suspect within five minutes as he had still been inside of the mall. He was apprehended without incident.
One victim was found and taken to a local medical facility with a non-life threatening wound.
While investigating, authorities learned that the suspect and victim knew each other. They had been in an altercation in a store on the lower level of the mall.
39-year-old Zettie Minter has been named as the suspect. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Sad sad sad!!! Smh!!!! They shouldve left that at home. Putting other people’s involved into their drama!
