Suspect Indicted In Tennessee Woman’s Murder; Recovered Vehicle May Be Connected To Young Dolph’s Murder

Last year, a woman was fatally shot in Covington, Tennessee. Now, a man has been indicted in the matter.

On November 12, 2021, the shooting occurred at S. College and Church Street. Authorities say that two people were found in a car and had been shot several times.

The victims had just exited a high school football game as a white Mercedes blocked the intersection. Then, two suspects, wearing face masks, got out of a Mercedes with large assault rifles, authorities say. They then shot into the hood and the windshield several times.

Investigators believe that the shooting was connected to gang activity and was targeted.

Last year, authorities determined that the same Mercedes was used in the killing of Rapper Young Dolph. He was fatally shot inside a South Memphis cookie store days following the Covington murder.

Both victims had been transported to a medical facility, but one woman later died.

Police stated that 30 automatic rifle shell casings were discovered in the street right in front of the victim’s vehicle.

As an investigation took place, 22-year-old Treon Ingram, was apprehended and placed in the Desoto County Detention Center in Mississippi on other charges.

Later, a weapon linking him to the shooting was discovered in his possession.

Ingram was indicted last week. He has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and two felony weapons charges.
