Taco Bell Employee Fatally Shot After Refusing Counterfeit Bills

Late Saturday night, a Taco Bell worker was fatally shot in the drive-thru of the restaurant in South Los Angeles, authorities say.

Around 11 p.m., a male suspect drove to the store in the Green Meadows community. He had tried to buy food with counterfeit bills. The suspect had an disagreement with the employee who wouldn’t take the money.

The assailant then shot the worker in the torso while he was in the drive-thru. The 41-year-old, Hispanic victim, Alejandro Garcia, lost his life at the scene. His 19-year-old son was working with him at the time and was in Taco Bell when the incident occurred.

The suspect left in a black sedan and is currently being sought.
