18-year-old Lauren Collins was killed in Boone County, Kentucky, after her vehicle was hit by a loose tire on Sunday morning.
Initial reports showed that Collins was driving on 1-75, close to 2 a.m., when the tire hit her windshield.
Authorities believe that it could have come from a dually pickup truck, leading it to roll over a concrete barrier and striking Collins’s vehicle.
Collins had to be extracted, and she was taken to a medical facility where she was later declared deceased.
The vehicle that lost the tire on northbound I-75 has not been located.
