Texas Asks For Mortuary Trailers As COVID-19 Cases Increase

The health services department in Texas has asked for five mortuary trailers as COVID-19 cases rise. Texas, with Florida, has the highest number of children that are hospitalized.

After analyzing state data of deaths, DHS asked for the trailers.

On August 4, the request said that the trailers were needed as “a normal part of preparedness to have these available to support local jurisdictions in case they need them.”

Although the trailers aren’t just for use in San Antonio, that’s where they would be kept because it is a central area.

This week, there were only a little over 300 icu beds remaining in Texas overall. Additionally, almost 12,000 people in the hospitals are COVID-19 patients.

More than 53,000 people have died from the virus in Texas.

Governor Greg Abott continues to receive alot of opposition to his non-mask mandate as the virus continues to spread.
