In what is being called the most notorious police assaults, an ex-Tennessee police officer has been apprehended.

On January 6, Ronald McAbee, 27, wore his sheriff’s vest to the US Capitol.

This week he was arrested after someone recognized him on a recording from the FBI’s most wanted post on their website.

The video reveals that McAbee snatched a police officer and dragged him into an angry crowd. When another officer tried to aid his colleague, McAbee punched him while wearing metal-knuckled gloves. All the while, McAbee had on a vest that read “Sheriff.” McAbee was indeed an officer at that time.

Now, he has been charged with assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

McAbee has yet to enter a plea. However, the justice department said that they will ask that he stay incarcerated while awaiting trial.
