On Monday, the Pentagon named three U.S. soldiers that were killed in an Iran-supported militia attack in Jordan this past weekend.

Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, 46 of Carrrolton, Ga; Spc. Kennedy Landon Sanders, 24, of Waycross, Ga; and Spc. Breonna Alexonsdria Moffett, 23, of Savannah, Ga, were identified as the soldiers who were killed in the drone attack.

They had all been assigned to the 718th Engineer Company, 926th Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade, Fort Moore, Ga.

The Pentagon released a statement saying that the fallen soldiers had been sent to Jordan to assist with Operation Inherent Resolve and the international coalition aiming to making sure that ISIS stays defeated.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our three Army Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country in Jordan…We honor their selfless service and dedication to duty,” Commander General Michael Kurilla remarked.

Recently, that have been several attacks on U.S. forces in the area. The Biden Administration says that they stem from retaliation because of the U.S.’s support of Israel in its continuous war with Hamas in Gaza that started on Oct. 7.
