Two children from Missouri, that had been missing for a year, were found in High Springs, Florida, in a grocery store on Wednesday.

The High Springs Police Department stated that the children and their kidnapper were found during a routine vehicle tag check that showed that the owner was wanted by authorities. With disguises, officers were able to track them to a Winn Dixie grocery store.

The children were named by police as Brooke and Adrian Gilley. They were discovered with their non-custodial mother, 36-year-old Kristi Nicole Gilley.

Gilley was apprehended on an active kidnapping warrant out of Clay County, Missouri. The warrant was issued in July 2022 which was months subsequent to when the children had last been seen.

Brooke and Adrian were handed over to the Florida Department of Children and Families Services. They will be reconnected with their birth relatives.

Authorities haven’t released any further information at this time.
