Two people drowned Sunday night in lake Lewisville.
Officers responded to a call around 8pm regarding a boating accident at Pilot Knoll Park.
The caller told authorities that two people not wearing life jackets were thrown from a boat.
The caller also said the boaters went under water and never resurfaced.
First responders from Highland Village fire and police departments, the Lewisville Fire Department dive team, Flower Mound Fire Department, Denton County Emergency Services District No. 1, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Texas Parks & Wildlife responded to the scene to help find boaters.
Lewisville FD dive team recovered the bodies from the water around 12:30am. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
