Two cities in Texas have been identified as having the most rats in the United States and even came in at the top 20 on the list.

The information comes from the well-known pest company, Orkin, that released a top 50 most rat-infested cities in the U.S.

One city in Texas includes, Dallas, that came in at no. 20 on the list. According to a study done in 2021, 4.3% of Dallas-area homeowners stated that they had seen a rodent in their residence within the last year. However, that doesn’t seem so bad compared to at least 18.7% of homeowners witnessing at least one cockroach in their home during that same period of time.

Then, the other city in Texas that is the most rat-infested was said to be Houston. That city came in at no.18 on the list.

“When 71-year-old Georgia Evans had an infestation situation in her Houston home, she literally took matters into her own hands…In January of 2022, Evans walked around her house with a machete, killing rats and snakes. Later, a Houston city councilman stepped in and arranged for a pest control company to help out Evans,” a report noted.

The number one city with the most rat-infestations in the U.S. was identified as Chicago.
