Two women have been arrested in relation to the theft of over $1 million from veterans who were mostly senior citizens.
The Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force investigators started their case in September 2022. They found out that ZarRajah Za’keyla Watkins had used her place of employment at Teleperformance to get information from USAA Bank account information.
Watkins is then said to have sold the account details to Destane Lashay Glass and other people. She also used the account information to deceive account holders.
Glass is accused of using the money to purchase a home, luxury cars, and more expensive items. On October 22, 2022, Glass bought a 5,050 sf. home and paid for it with $639,000 cash.
On November 17, Watkins was apprehended and now faces 175 counts of identity theft. She was placed in the Caddo Correctional Center with no bond.
On Tuesday, November 22, close to 1 p.m., Glass was arrested. She is facing 65 counts of identity theft and was placed in the Caddo Correctional Center.
An investigation is on-going, and more apprehensions may come in the future.
