A Virginia mother has been charged with attempted murder of her 7 month old son after trying to drown him in the Appomattox River.
According to reports officers responded to a call on January 11 about a woman entering the river with a baby on the 500 block of Riverside Avenue in Hopewell.
Upon arrival officers located Leslei Kuykendall,38 and the infant in high waist water. First responders began reviving the infant and then rushed to VCU Medical Center where the infant was treated and released.
Kuykendall was taken to John Randolph Medical Center for non life threatening injuries and arrested and charged with attempted murder on January 19. She is currently being held with no bond.
