A woman was caught on camera throwing a computer monitor at an American Airlines ticket agent in Miami International Airport. On Wednesday, she had her first court appearance.

25-year-old Camilia McMillie has been charged with aggravated battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Her bond was set at $4,500.

Detectives say that on Tuesday, McMillie was going from Alabama to New York City and had a connecting flight in MIA.

She checked in to her flight at gate D-39 subsequent to being rebooked for missing her prior flight.

“While the subject was with the gate agent, her two minor children walked away without notice to use nearby restrooms. Once the subject noticed that the children were not with her, she became irate and began to scream, demanding that the gate agent find her children,” authorities say.

McMillie has been accused of pulling the boarding pass reader off of the counter, vandalizing the equipment as she yelled repeatedly. She is also said to have thrown a computer monitor at the gate agent. That person sustained injuries to the shoulder.

When authorities arrived to the scene, McMillie was apprehended and charged.

“Acts of violence against our team members are not tolerated by American Airlines. We are committed to working closely with law enforcement in their investigation…,” the company noted.
