On Friday, authorities stated that a 13-year-old boy is facing juvenile murder charges. This is in relation to a fatal shooting last month. It occurred at a grocery store, in West Fort Worth, Texas.

On June 22, around 7:40 p.m., the shooting took place. This was outside of Kroger in the 9100 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard. Three juveniles were then detained.

Authorities haven’t disclosed what the motive was, but an arrest warrant was issued for the 13-year-old. He was then apprehended. No other suspects have been named.

The Tarrant County medical examiner has identified the victim as Spenser Slavik, 36.

Family members note that Slavik was a graduate of Brewer High School in White Settlement. He also had enrolled in courses at Tarrant County Community College.

“He loved being on a computer and was considered a whiz, doing anything on them. He had a very high IQ and could figure things out very quickly before anyone else,” his obituary stated.
