17-year-old Dorothy Tillman, of Chicago, has earned her doctoral degree from Arizona State University, her family has stated.
Tillman received her college degree when she was 12 years old and her masters at the age of 14. Last week, she successfully defended her dissertation in order to receive her doctoral degree in integrated behavioral health. Her research looked at the positive impact observed at schools that have mental health programs.
Tillman hasn’t determined how she will use her degree but wants to work in the entrepreneurial area and will work on today’s mental health crisis. However, right now, she plans to travel and spend time with people her own age.
Tillman is also working on a summer camp that she started four years ago, which provides Science Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) curriculum to teens.
