19-Year-Old Files $50 Million Lawsuit After Officer Punched Him, Slammed Him Into Wall
19-year-old Jaquwan Smith has filed a lawsuit against the city of Warren, in Michigan, for $50 million. This comes after ex-officer Matthew Rodriguez punched him in the face, slammed his head, and pushed him to the ground. The incident was captured on video.
Court documents note that Smith says that his constitutional rights were violated.
In the security camera footage, former Officer Rodriguez, 48, is seen booking Smith into jail before the two exchange words on June 13, at 6:08 a.m. Then, Rodriguez struck the 19-year-old, slammed him into a wall and then onto the floor. Other officers came to the scene, seemingly trying to de-escalate the matter as Rodriguez slammed Smith’s head again.
Officials say that one of the officers was then heard telling Rodriguez, “Enough, Enough.” Rodriguez hit the teen again prior to throwing him into a jail cell.
The two arresting officers disclosed the incident to their superiors, prompting an internal investigation.
Rodriguez was placed on unpaid administrative leave three hours following that but has now been fired from the Warren Police Department.
He is facing assault, battery, and neglect of duty charges.

They should not out their hands on a child are any body else just do their job take to jail only
