$2 million in jewelry was stolen out of Town East Mall in Mesquite after burglars broke through the walls over the weekend.

Employees at the American Jewelry store came into work Saturday morning and noticed a concrete wall to their store was breached and they’d been robbed.

According to Mesquite police, the burglars (or burglar) gained access to the jewelry store through a wall in the old sears building. After entering the store, they gathered jewelry, with a total value of $2 million, and quickly left the scene.

Authorities say they are still uncertain if it was just one individual or if it was organized. The robbery is currently being investigated while officers work with mall security to gather any surveillance footage.
