Shatanya Clarke, a 27-year-old news anchor for KFDX, passed away from a brain tumor on Thursday, April 14.

Clarke passed away in her home on Thursday after getting diagnosed two years ago with Myxoid Mesenchymal, a potentially fatal brain tumor.

Clarke became a news anchor this past year after joining the Wichita Falls station KFDX in 2018 as a reporter. She assisted local charities by featuring a “Help for the Helpers” segment during her newscast.

The Jamaica native endured brain surgery, chemotherapy, and other treatments after she began experiencing extreme headaches. Despite her obstacles, she continued to lead the news and stay positive.

The vigil for Clarke will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18, in Park Central on Scott Avenue in Wichita Falls.
