A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and killed Thursday morning in Richardson.
Richardson PD responded to reports of a crash near Coit Road and Spring Valley Road around 10:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found 76-year-old Ignacio Garcia laying in the roadway. Garcia, who is identified as the pedestrian, attempted to cross Spring Valley Road mid-block. A Chevrolet pickup truck traveling northbound in the center lane struck Garcia with his truck and stopped to render aid.
Garcia was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
