Video: A Crowley middle school teacher has been placed on administrative leave following a physical altercation with a student

An investigation is underway after an altercation in a classroom between a student and teacher became physical. It is unclear what started the altercation but a video posted to social media shows a student hitting a teacher multiple times. It then shows the teacher react by wrestling the student to the floor and detaining him.
The teacher has since been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the situation.
The principal, Quintella Knox, said in an email that, “The safety and well being of our students is our top priority in Crowley ISD, and we are committed to providing a learning environment where all students can thrive. Thank you for your support as we work together to provide our students with excellence in education”.
