An arrest has been made after two women were shot at a Valero gas station in Rowlett on the Fourth of July.
On Monday at around 7:28 p.m., Rowlett Police Department responded to reports of gunfire and injuries at 1600 Dalrock Road.
When officers arrived they found two women, ages 24 and 31, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims told officers that her boyfriend, Keith Richmond, 34, had shot her and left in his gold vehicle.
Both women, who are related to each other, were transported from the scene to a hospital. Upon arrival, one of the victims was pronounced deceased while the other is expected to survive.
Rowlett Police traced the suspect’s address to a garland residence. Subsequent to the relay of information, Garland Police Officers took Richmond into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
Richmond is currently in the Rowlett City Jail facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence.
