The person believed to be responsible for a mass shooting that claimed the lives of 6 and injured dozens has been captured by police.

Robert “Bobby” Crimo III, 22, was arrested shortly after officials put out a description of his vehicle. Crimo was named as a person of interest in a mass shooting at a 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois on Monday.

During the parade at around 10:15 a.m., a gunman opened fire from a nearby rooftop using a high-powered rifle. At least 6 people have died and more than 2 dozen were seriously injured.

Highland Park Police Chief Lou Jogmen said Crimo was located in North Chicago, roughly eight hours after the shooting.

North Chicago Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Crimo fled the scene. After a short pursuit, Crimo was taken into custody without incident.

The charges against Crimo are pending.
