Chipotle Fined For $25 Million Over Tainted Food

Chipotle has been confronted for feeding over one thousand people in the United States. Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. finally agreed Tuesday to pay twenty-five million in fines to resolve the criminal charges placed on them from serving tainted food 2015 to 2018.
They have been charged in Los Angeles, twice in the Federal court for violating the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by serving unsanitary food that causes diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal cramps, and a food poisoning incident.
The company admitted to their poor hygiene standards, such as not keeping the food properly refrigerated to prevent pathogen growth.
The Company has also agreed to enter into a deferred prosecution agreement that will keep them from serving jail time by continuing to improve its food safety regulations. Such as fine food safety cases, paying the record-setting, following the rules of food safety.
