Don Lemon and CNN are said to have reached an agreement after the network terminated Lemon in 2023.

CNN will be paying Lemon $24.5 million, the total amount that he would have been paid had his last contract been left in place for 3-and-a-half years.

Last year, Lemon received backlash after he altered his prime time show to change to the mornings next to co-hosts Caitlin Collins and Poppy Harlow. He then made sexists remarks about a presidential candidate, 51-year-old Nikki Haley, being past her prime.

Afterwards, the former “Don Lemon Show” host took a short leave of absence and apologized to viewers and female co-workers for his statements.

“I’ve heard you. I’m learning from you, and I’m committed to doing better,” he had said.

But only a few months after that, Lemon learned from his agent that CNN was firing him.

“After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly,” he wrote back then.

In June 2023, Lemon said that CNN terminated him because he wouldn’t allow “liars and bigots,” to come on his show.

Earlier this year, Lemon started a new show on X.
