Former President Donald Trump was indicted on criminal charges after FBI agents found classified documents at one of his residences.

On Thursday, Trump was criminally charged for taking the documents after he completed his term and left the White House.

During a raid by the FBI, hundreds of top-secret documents were discovered at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. In addition to the ones that were confiscated by federal agents, more than 100 documents remained somewhere in the residence and have yet to be returned.

In a seven-count indictment, Trump is charged with illegal retention of government secrets, obstruction of justice and conspiracy, and false statements.

If found guilty he could be facing several years in prison.
