27-year-old Sara Seymour, an educator from Indiana, is accused of making a 7-year-old with special needs, consume his own vomit with a spoon. This was as other educators stood by and watched.
Now, Seymour has willingly surrendered her teaching license.
Seymour, an ex- Life Skills teacher at Brown Elementary School, gave up her license on June 7. In May, she had been fired.
Authorities say that in April, Seymour and 63-year-old Debra Kanipe, a classroom aide, were charged with neglect of a dependent and failure to report in connection to the matter.
Julie Taylor, 48, Kristen Mitchell, 38, and Megan King, 24, also faced charges of failure to report. They all observed Seymour demanding that the child consume his own vomit and didn’t tell authorities.
Seymour is accused of telling the child that if he pukes, he will have to eat it. Taylor gave the child a tray in order to vomit. Then, after the child vomited, Kanipe gave the child a spoon to eat the vomit. They both stood by the child while he ate some of the vomit while Mitchell and King looked on.
The child’s family is now expected to file a lawsuit against Brownsburg Community Schools.

I thought special needs teachers were trained for this type of situation, I don’t understand why they didn’t treat the situation differently instead of humiliating the child.
