Families Separated At The Border May Receive $450,000 Per Person

Lawsuits from migrants are attempting to be settled by the Biden Administration. This may result in families separated at the border receiving $450,000 for each person. The migrants say that the current policies have caused psychological problems.

5,500 children have been said to have been separated from their parents at the border after the Trump Administration’s policy was rolled out. The zero- tolerance policy was geared toward families who illegally crossed the US-Mexico border to seek asylum.

Since children couldn’t be held with their parents, many were split apart from their families with no plan on how to track or get the families back together.

Many migrants have been released into the US and have requested to go to court later.

The lawsuit claims that children who were separated from their parents were put in poor housing. They also say they suffered malnutrition and heat exhaustion.

Biden has always maintained that the policy was cruel,  and he would fight to reunite families.
